West brings a fresh perspective as a third-generation Builder/Developer with over 65 years of extensive experience. Our journey spans a diverse range of projects, including Restaurants, Hospital Additions/Renovations, Creative Use Tenant Improvements, Offices, Apartments, Condominiums, Tract Homes, and Custom Homes.

Setting West Development Group apart is its hands-on approach. Unlike many builders, we take pride in self-performing various construction categories with our skilled in-house teams. From concrete and framing to finish carpentry and cabinetry, we ensure a seamless and efficient project execution.

Alex Iravani founded West Development under the guidance and direction of long-time general contractor Ted Merrill.

Together, Alex, Ted, and the West Development team aim to provide property owners with ultimate control over their real estate, ensuring that regulatory and safety measures are properly addressed.

    Alex Iravani brings over a decade of extensive expertise in the construction industry. With a specialized focus on building construction, Alex's proficiency encompasses all phases of the construction process.

  • RMO

    Ted holds over 63 years Construction Experience in positions ranging from Laborer, Apprentice Carpenter, Carpenter, Superintendent, Estimator to General Contractor. Working in all phases of construction, but specializing in damage repair work, including experience in estimating and reconstruction of buildings damaged by fire, wind, water, motor vehicles, earth movement and construction defects.

    Ted was appointed to serve as an impartial repair method & cost expert by judges of the San Diego & Orange County Superior Courts. Ted also holds more than 45 years acting as Umpire and Arbitrator in construction related issues.

Sustainable.

West Development is deeply committed to incorporating recycled materials into its projects. One notable example is Mike Davis's tree milling, where his dedication to sustainability has significantly contributed to West's initiatives.

By recycling wood into slabs, resources are recycled into both structural and vanity elements throughout West Construction projects. This commitment to utilizing recycled materials not only minimizes environmental impact but also showcases West Development's dedication to responsible and eco-friendly construction practices.
